Sol & Arte 2017 will be a youth exchange with Finland, Italy, France, Romania and Portugal organizations and is following the tracks of the artbased "Drums for Peace" youth exchanges, aiming to also engage disadvantaged youngsters.
The 63 participants will, according to their own priorities and to ensure a good mix of nationalities, be actively involved in workshops such as dance, music and percussion streamlined by professional artists. Thus, the workshops also serve as a catalyst for intercultural and informal learning and explore the theme "Short Stories", linking the urban culture with local and national popular culture, bringing personal testimonials to the project. The exchange will involve some youngsters from Ovar - especially those with fewer opportunities to work inclusion, European citizenship and inclusion - with the cooperation of local authorities and social organizations. Project activities will last for eight days.
In our organization and "Drums For Peace" network we believe that exchanges with participants from North, South, East and West are an excellent way to combat racism. It is not “only” "just" five countries represented, but even more cultures, creative, and inclusive learning experiences.
The project will include workshops, performing arts, linked through the participation of groups and joining in the final show, viewing the arts as a meeting point, showing that social inclusion improves the final product and the social and individual skills.
The project includes a public presentation in the city center of Ovar and a newsletter and a video will be shared across all countries and shared on websites and social networks.
By including in this project, the problem of refugees in the European and national context, is expected to produce a significant impact on local communities, opening a humanistic understanding of each participant that can exacerbate the consequences of an open intercultural vision through the Erasmus + objectives.
The project will also bring to Portugal, a group of four young people with disabilities arising from an institution supported by the Mairie de Montlucon, accompanied by a technician. |
